The energy density of the Hybrid-Supercap which exhibits oxidation-reduction behavior is 2.5times higher than that of the EDLC which exhibits electrostatic adsorption-desorption behavior. The Hybrid-Supercap system is composed of the capacitor system and the secondary battery system.

  • EDLC, known as electric double layer capacitor, is an electrochemical capacitor in which an electric charge is stored performing adsorption and desorption of the ion in electrolyte at the electrode/electrolyte interface.
    It has the following features: (1) low internal resistance, (2) high power density, (3) high reliability, and (4) wide operating temperature range(-40 ~ +60℃).
